Sue Garland
My teaching career began over 27 years ago when I left Perth to go and teach in a small school in Esperance. I loved country life and my next teaching position was in Dardanup. I eventually made my way back to Perth where I taught in several schools over the following 8 or 9 years, mostly part time, while raising my family.
At this point, I was ready to return to full time teaching and spent the next 11 years teaching years 1 and 2 at Bletchley Park. By 2018, I was ready for a change and made the leap across to Southern Grove Primary School. I love the Walker Learning pedagogy here at Southern Grove and enjoy connecting with the students and their families.
My husband, Dave, and I are enjoying a little bit of freedom now enjoying watching our three children become young adults with views and opinions of their own – what a rewarding stage of life!
In my spare time, I like to read, do craft and travel. Travel has been limited lately but we have managed to get out to some new places in WA in our caravan. I am on the Southern Grove Primary School Board as a staff member, sharing our vision with the school community.
